As an artist and a student, it was important for me to have an online portfolio. I also wanted to share my artwork with anyone who wished to view it. In the future I hope to expand my website and allow visitors the opportunity to purchase my art.

I enjoyed drawing and coloring from a very young age. When I was in fifth grade I won a school contest and had my drawing printed on the title page of every year book. It was one of the first moments I realized I wanted a career in art. Throughout middle school and half of high school I  didn't take any art classes. Instead I practiced drawing at home by looking at photos online. My junior year I finally decided to take an art class. That year I received an academic award for art, and was permitted to skip to a higher art class the following year. Although I perform well in my art classes, I generally don't follow the techniques demonstrated by the teacher. Guidelines and rules never suited my style, so much of what I do is based solely off of observation. I believe that every artist is different and it's important to find the method that works best for you. The key is to practice regularly and learn to embrace your mistakes.
